Mixed-Style Temple

Wat Mahathat, Sukhothai

This temple on the grounds of Wat Mahathat is said to combine an Angkorean-style base (13th century) with 15th-century Ayutthaya-style towers, and to have been a Brahaman temple before being converted to Buddhism. I read it differently, since the decorations on the original prangs (closeup) - the central tower is an obvious restoration - seem classically Khmer to me.
