Sula-mani, Pagan
c. 1181
Pilasters and lintels of the temple are detailed with fine stucco work considting of kirttimukhas, swirling motifs, and other decorative elements. The confinement of this decoration within strict geometrical forms, such as the triangle and the rectangular band, gives the temple decoration a "classical" feel. The decorated triangle (or "V"), seen in the examples above, is found everywhere in Pagan, beginning with the earliest temples such as Nan-hpya.
