Facade
Sulamani, Pagan
c. 1181
This view of the building's facade shows that the upper storey
is essentially a cube set on the first storey platform. The
upper level, like those of most two-storey temples except Mingalazedi,
is currently (2004) inaccessible to visitors. The lower level,
in spite of appearances, is mostly a solid mass. Four small shrines,
one on each side, are cut a short distance into this mass, and
connected by a circumferential corridor.
