Varuna

Prasat Kuk don (Siem Reap)
Sandstone, 77 cm (30")
3d quarter of the 10th century
National Museum of Cambodia

Varuna is the god of the oceans and Vedic guardian of the west; his vehicle, the hamsa or goose, is also the mount of Brahma. His posture in this example is very like Arjuna, the chrioteer of the sun.
