East Face of Angkor Wat

The area behind the temple (east side) provides an unobstructed view of Angkor Wat's profile. The center of the temple's east face is seen here. The east gopura (gate), with its three projecting openings, occupies the center of the photo, while the temple's celebrated five towers rise above. Two partially-ruined towers, visible on either side, stand at the near corners of the second enclosure, inside the temple precincts (map).
