Sea Creatures

Large Pond, Angkor Thom

Sea creatures of all kinds - fanciful, semi-fanciful, and realistic - are portrayed on the lowest course of the pond (see the Leper King Terrace for a similar concept). In this photo one can see, below the neck of a long-bodied creature, a crab whose realistically asymmetric claws (the right is longer and stronger than the left) indicate a close observation of marine life by the artist.
