Defaced Pediment
Ta Prohm, Angkor
Jayavarman VIII, a Shivaite, erased the Buddha images from
Ta Prohm and other temples of his predecessor.
Beneath the erased portion of this pediment is an unusual line of
figures with human bodies and triple naga heads.
The principal flanking figures are
a kneeling female, with erased head, and a kneeling garuda.
These are not Buddhist images, so perhaps it is some other figure that was erased here.
