Meditation Hall

Kaludiya Monastery, Mihintale

Kaludiya's meditation hall is located just west of the building seen on the previous page. (A corner of the latter is sticking out at photo right.) The meditation hall is oddly built, as if growing out of the very rocks themselves. The large, buff-colored blocks are modern restoration materials; the whole building was originally built out of small bricks like those visible on the upper level.
