Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara

Cave 2, Dambulla

Avalokiteshvara is easily identified by the seated Buddha in his crown. His left hand is in the position of displaying a flower (not sculpted, but the stem would go between his thumb and index finger). His right hand is also in the position of displaying an attribute. Again, the attribute itself is not sculpted, but in this mudra it would have been a lotus stem, held between his index and middle fingers.
