Geungnakbojeon, rearSilleuksa Temple The exterior (sides and rear) of Silleuksa's Paradise Hall is painted with scenes from Zen's Oxherding Parable. As mentioned before, Korean Buddhism (Jogye) is a fusion of sutra study, meditation practice (Zen), and Pure Land worship; the latter two aspects are on view at this hall, which is Zen on the outside and Pure Land on the inside. |
