Memorial Hall of King Sejong
Yeoju, Korea

Because King Sejong was a great patron of arts and learning, it was deemed appropriate to build a memorial hall (lower photo) on the grounds of his tomb, with model instruments like Jang Yeong-sil's armillary sphere seen here. These are modern replicas; the originals dated to Sejong's reign (ca. 1450) and later. Similar instruments can be seen at the the ancient observatory in Beijing, and Jai Singh's observatory in Jaipur.
