Cheongwadae, the presidential residence ("Blue House") of South Korea, lies just behind the present boundary of Gyeongbokgung, with Mt. Bugaksan in the background. The location has provided excellent feng shui, and geographical continuity to the seat of government, from the Joseon dynasty onwards.
