Amisan Garden

Gyeongbokgung Palace
Seoul, Korea

Amisan Garden, marked #18 on the palace map, is located just behind the Queen's Residence. It was built from the soil excavated from Gyeonghoeru, and features four hexagonal decorative ondol chimneys (1869) built of orange brick. Auspicious objects (such as animals, plants, etc.) decorate the chimney pillars. At the top of each chimney is a tiled roof, and on top of that are model houses where the smoke comes out.
