Deokhong-jeon

Deoksugung Palace
Seoul, Korea (Palace Map)

Located next to the Emperor's residence, Deokhongjeon was built in 1911 and furnished in modern style with electric lights, carpets, and chairs. It was used to receive foreign diplomats, who would have perceived its up-to-date interior as progressive and modern. As usual, the familiar Joseon royal screen stands behind the Emperor's throne.
