InteriorMuseoljeon Hall
The symbolism of this hall, in connection with the nearby Daeungjeon (earlier pages), has been understood to mean that words (teachings) are not enough to convey enlightenment; it must also come from within (meditation). Like Bulguksa, most large Buddhist temple complexes in Asia contain at least a worship hall (image hall), lecture/recitation hall, and meditation hall, since these are the three main activities that occur in the temple. |
