Kitchen Scene

Anak Tomb #3, 357 A.D.
North Korea, Hwanghae Province

Here is a scene from everyday life, in which a kitchen attendant is cooking rice in a pot, while others stoke the fire and collect dishes on a tray. Perhaps appropriately considering its theme, there appears to be smoke damage at the top of the painting. Other daily-life scenes to the viewer's right, not shown in this closeup, include a meat storehouse and a carriage shed.
