Daebirojeon

Third courtyard, Haeinsa Temple
Gayasan National Park, Korea

Daebirojeon contains two statues of Vairocana, said to be the oldest wooden statues in Korea (according to the sign at the lower left corner). It may take you a moment to convince yourself that these two images are photos of the same building. The lower photo was taken in 2010, before restoration. The upper photo was taken in 2016, after restoration.

The hall is located in the upper left corner of the third courtyard of the temple, beside the main hall (previous page).
