Jeondeungsa Temple

The drum tower of Jeondeungsa, like many mid-Joseon drum towers, carries symbolic meaning: the samul ("Four Instruments") played there include a wooden fish for sea-creatures; a metal cloud plate for birds; and a drum and bell for animals and humans. In other words, all sounds for all living beings.
