Deer Mosaic

Original location: Jordan, Church of the Virgin Mary, Madaba, 6th century A.D.

Current (2005) location: Jordanian Museum of Popular Traditions, Roman Theater, Amman.

The crouching deer, with horns and whiskers, has a rather worried look - perhaps he is hiding from a hunter.
