Haniwa of a Deer
Yakumotatsu Fudoki-no-Oka
Izumo (modern Matsue), Japan
This haniwa was recovered not from a kofun, but rather from the kiln in which it was fired. Either the haniwa, or the kiln itself,
was probably damaged before it could be removed. Its date is the first half of the 6th century A.D.
