Lecture Hall (Kodo)

Toji's Kodo (Lecture Hall; don't confuse with the Kondo, Main Hall) was completed in 835, burned down in 1486, and reconstructed 1596-1615. It houses a 9th century group (next page) of 21 Esoteric Buddhist statues in Indian style, that are traditionally ascribed to Kukai.
