Flat Clay Figures

Small clay figures found at the site include humans, animals, clay tablets, and other items harder to classify. Many are decorated with punch marking, like the clay cones on the previous page; this is a hallmark of Jomon decoration. The figures are less elaborate than the ones at Sannai Maruyama, perhaps because of a difference in available resources between the two sites.
