<p>This detail shows some of the roof's ceramic tiles, <a href=./../asianartglossary.html#kamon>kamon</a> (family crests), ridge decoration, and <a href=./../asianartglossary.html#shachihoko>shachihoko</a> (fishtailed roof-end decoration). The six-spot mon (Hanare-mutu-boshi) is the Toda family crest (1617-1633 and 1726-1869); the floral mon (Maru-ni-tachi-omodaka) belongs
to the Mizuno family (1642-1725).
