Kissho-ten

Kanzeon-ji, Dazaifu

This image of Kisshoten (Mahasri), the goddess of wealth, dates from the 11th century. Made of wood, it is a little over 7 feet tall. In style and manner, the statue seems to resemble other deities from India, such as Bon-ten (Brahma) and Taishaku-ten (Indra).
