Butsuden (Main Hall)

Eihei-ji Temple, Fukui (plan)

The primary altar of the Buddha Hall displays Amida, Shakyamuni, and Miroku (Maitreya) from left to right; typically the curtains partially veil those Buddhas of the past and future, so that only Shakyamuni, the Buddha of the present, is fully revealed to the worshipers.
