This modern shrine, historically located on the upper terrace of the 15th century Candi Ceto, is currently (2008) being serviced by Hindu priests from Bali. The Muslims pushed the Hindus out of Java to Bali in the 16th century, and here we see a 20th century Hindu pushback.
