Venugopala Shrine

Ranganatha Temple, Srirangam

This early 17th century shrine lies SW of the main axis between the 4th and 3d enclosures. Its figures are ranked among the finest examples of Nayaka art. The photos on this page show just one corner of the shrine, with details of the cornice, Krishna playing the flute, a maiden playing the vina, and another maiden holding a parrot.
