After his enlightenment, the Buddha (symbolized by a tree at left) returns to Kapilavastu and is greeted by his father beneath the royal chattra (umbrella, center), members of the court, and kinnaras (above).

This panel may also symbolize the miracle at Kapilavastu, where Buddha levitated into the air in the presence of his father and the court.
