Jambulinga Temple

Pattadakal, Karnataka

This is practically the "twin" of Kashivishvanatha Temple just to the north, although Jambulinga lacks the expected doorway guardians. The ribs of both towers are decorated with horseshoe-shaped (gavaksha) blind arches. On the front (east) face of the Jambulinga tower is a large panel of Shiva dancing with Nandi and Parvati. A similar panel on the Kaddasimbeshvara tower is heavily damaged.
