Ganesh and Vishnu

Keshava Temple, Somnathpur

On the left, dancing Ganesh; on the right, Vishnu seated "at ease" on Ananta. Between the panels is a female drummer; at photo right, the ritually dangerous junction of two walls is spiritually reinforced by a woman carrying fruits, emblematic of fertility and abundance.

Unusually, all the sculptures in the temple are signed (square plaques) by the sculptor, "Malitamba." (Rough Guide)
