VasudharaNepal, 14th century
Vasudhara is the Nepalese Buddhist "giver of wealth," the counterpart of Hindu Lakshmi. Her right hands (photo left) from top to bottom make a gesture of adoring, hold a spray of gems, and grasp some attribute which has now been lost. In her left hands (again, from top to bottom) she holds a manuscript, a sheaf of grain, and a waterpot. |
