Horse Pulling the Temple

Konarak

This is one of the horses that "pull" the great temple/chariot, viewed from the southeast in front of the jagamohan. Originally there were seven horses, one for each day of the week; this is the only one that has been fully reconstructed. The wheel behind the horse is second of twelve (that is, twelve wheels on the south side and twelve on the north) that extend back to the rear of the temple.
