KamaParshvanatha Temple
Kama is the god of Love, originally a Yaksha (nature spirit) and later regarded as a son of Vishnu. He holds a bow (decorated with flowers and vegetation) in his upper left hand, and five arrows (representing the five senses) in his upper right hand. The lower half of the bow is broken off. With his lower left hand, Kama embraces his consort. In his lower right hand, he holds what seems to be a tether to his vahana - a parrot, here represented as a human female with a parrot's beak. |
