Grishneshvara Temple

Ellora

This 18th century Hindu revivalist monument, located in a small village a short distance across the valley due west of Kailasanatha Temple, enshrines a 2d century BC Shiva linga. The temple continues in worship down to the present day, as shown by the flags flying on its superstructure. In the foreground is a Brahmin, probably associated with the temple, distinguished by his red dhoti and bared torso.
