Ganeshvari and Chamunda

North wall of the jagamohan
Parashurameshvara Temple, Bhubaneshwar

The figure to the right is an incomplete sculpture of Ganeshvari, the matrika counterpart of Ganesh. The figure has no breasts, its chin and trunk are unfinished, and its expected rat vehicle is missing. To the left is Chamunda, one of the saptamatrikas (literally "Seven Mothers," although there are evidently eight in this temple) who are lined up all in a row on the north wall of the entrance hall. Skeletal Chamunda is depicted above her vehicle, an owl.
