Unfinished Shiva Temple

11th century. Bhojpur, Madhya Pradesh

Bhoja (1018-1085) was a Paramara ruler. His colossal, unfinished Shiva temple contains a 2.5 m (8') linga mounted on an 8m (26') high base. The small pavilion in front of the temple is a later addition.
