Jai Mandir

Royal Palace, Amber

"Jai mandir" means "house of victory." It is functionally a diwan-i-khas (meaning the king's hall of private audience), and architecturally a shish mahal (which means a "mirrored room.") The building is 17th century (Mirza Jai Singh, ruled 1623-1668), but it is decorated throughout in a 16th century revivalist style.
