East Gate, Itmad-ud-daulah Tomb

Itmad-ud-daulah is the tomb of Mirza Ghiyath Beg, the wazir (chief minister) of Emperor Jahangir. The monument was designed by his daughter, Nur Jahan ("Light of the World"), the favorite queen of Jahangir. Ghiyath Beg died in 1622.

The East Gate, shown here, is the main entrance to the tomb.
