Seated Colossus of Ramesses II

This seated colossus of Ramesses II (earlier page) is positioned in front of the colonnade built by Amenhotep III, as if to guard and dominate the entrance. It wears the nemes and double crowns (previous page), the standard headgear for this ruler, as at Abu Simbel.
