Ramesses' migdol gate leads into the complex, where some pylons of his mortuary temple are visible in the distance. The gate is recessed to provide a field of fire against attackers. The entire fortification (gate plus flanking guardrooms, see previous page) is 72' high by 82' wide (22m x 25m).
