Nefertari Worships Hathor

Queen's Temple, Abu Simbel

In this scene from the interior of the Queen's Temple, Nefertari (l.) worships Hathor with sistrum, tambourine, and fan. The sistrum is the instrument of the goddess, while the fan signifies both royalty and life (as air, or breath). Ancient Greek and modern European graffiti are visible on the base of Hathor's throne.
