Sekhmet

Temple of Ptah, Karnak

This statue from the temple of Ptah shows Sekhmet standing with a full set of attributes: solar disk, uraeus, ankh, and papyrus sceptre of lower (northern) Egypt. Sekhmet is worshipped here as the wife of Ptah, although elsewhere at Karnak she is associated with Mut. A fine seated statue is in the Egyptian Museum.
