Courtyard of Manjushri Hall
Ta'er Si, Xining
The nine-bayed hall, called the Manjushri Hall (1734) from its principal image,
is currently (2007) under renovation. Part of the hall is seen at photo left. This photo is taken from
the courtyard of the hall, looking back (north) to the Maitreya Hall (grey double eaves, 1577) and beyond to the
double-eaved Great Golden Roof Hall (1622, 1711). The latter
was built as a commemorative structure upon the birth-spot of Tsongkapa; inside is a silver stupa with an image of the founder.
