Tang Dynasty, Beilin Museum ("Forest of Steles"), Xi'an

Emperor Taizong (Li Shimin) loved his war-horses, and commissioned relief carvings of his six favorites to decorate his tomb. Two of the reliefs were removed from China under questionable circumstances, and now are on display at the University of Pennsylvania Museum.
