Xiantong Si
Wutai Shan
The largest monastery on Wutai Shan, Xiantong is also one of the earliest in China; it is thought to have been founded in the Eastern Han dynasty (first century AD). The buildings that exist today, though, are Ming and Qing in date.
The dedication of the Great Manjusri Hall, seen here, recalls that Manjusri is the resident Bodhisattva of Mount Wu Tai.
