Summit Marker

Temple Of The Jade Emperor, Mt. Tai

The modest temple at the top of the mountain is dedicated to the Jade Emperor, who is the Daoist ruler of heaven, earth, and the underworld. The rocks in front of the hall represent Mt. Tai with its peaks, the summit (this very spot) being officially 1545m high according to the tablet. The marker is surrounded by a nest of petitionary bicycle locks (see earlier page).
