Kneeling Bodhisattva

This graceful kneeling bodhisattva illustrates the feminine characteristics that appeared in Tang Dynasty bodhisattva sculpture at the time that Avalokiteshvara was becoming Guanyin (this figure, lacking Amida in her crown, is a different bodhisattva.) Although partly damaged, it is a peaceful and calm representation.
