Karangniujiu

Dongba Culture Museum, Lijiang, Yunnan province

A local god of the Naxi, Karangniujiu's job is "to conquer the demons of love suicide and hanging suicide" (quote from the museum label). This probably means that the god discourages his worshipers from suicide, which was a great concern of the traditional Naxi culture (previous page).
