Kuqa Mosque

Kuqa (Kucha), Xinjiang

The Kuqa mosque is modern, built in 1923 (according to the Eyewitness Travel Guide, p. 509) upon the site of an earlier structure. There is nothing "Chinese" about its architecture, which looks entirely to traditional Uighur Islamic models.
