Double Jar
Qijia Culture, 2100-1700 BC
Gansu Provincial Museum
The design on this twin jar represents a group of silkworms, according to the museum label. The incised patterns on the two jars are mirror-images of each other: an upright worm runs down the length of each jar nearest the join, while a pair of worms wraps around the body of each jar on the diagonal.
